Gladstone Commercial Corporation is a real estate investment trust (REIT) that primarily invests in and owns net leased industrial and commercial real property and makes long-term industrial and commercial mortgage loans. As of December 31, 2008, most of the portfolio of real estate the Company owned was leased to a cross section of tenants ranging from small businesses to large public companies, many of which are corporations that do not have publicly rated debt. As of December 31, 2008, the Company owned a total of 65 properties and hold one mortgage loan. During the year ended December 31, 2008, the Company acquired six properties totaling approximately 756,000 square feet.
