Alvarion Ltd. (Alvarion) is engaged in the design, development, manufacturing and marketing of wireless products. The Company supplies carriers, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and private network operators with solutions based on the Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) standard, as well as other wireless broadband solutions. It is the provider of WiMAX and non-WiMAX wireless broadband systems, having launched 250 commercial WiMAX deployments worldwide. Alvarion?s solutions are designed to cover a range of frequency bands with fixed, portable and mobile applications, to enable the delivery of personal broadband services, business and residential broadband access, corporate virtual private network (VPN), toll quality telephony, mobile base station feeding, hotspot coverage extension, and services for various vertical markets, such as municipalities, public safety, mining, oil and gas, utilities, video surveillance and border control.

First among these trends, some financial companies were hit way too hard, along with their brethren, and will now recover in a world where they have fewer competitors. Next, the developing world is back on track. People are moving from rural to urban areas throughout the planet. And they are very, very hungry. Back at home, health care reform, whether you like it or not, is happening. Also, the dollar is weakening. Meantime, personal computing is still getting faster, smaller, cheaper. And I'm afraid the threat of terrorism is here to stay -- and the fight against it will still cost billions of dollars.
