Lafarge S.A. (Lafarge), incorporated in 1884, produces and sells building materials, which includes cement, aggregates, ready mix, concrete, gypsum wallboard, and related products worldwide, primarily under the Lafarge brand. Its products are used to build and renovate residential, commercial and public works worldwide. The Company operates in three operating segments: Cement, Aggregates & Concrete and Gypsum. The Cement segment produces and sells a range of cement and hydraulic binders adapted to the needs of the construction industry. The Aggregates & Concrete segment produces and sells aggregates, ready mix concrete, other concrete products and, relating to paving activities other products and services. The Gypsum segment mainly produces and sells drywall for the commercial and residential construction sectors. In July 2009, the Company sold its Chilean cement, aggregates and concrete assets to the Peruvian Brescia Group. In May 2009, the Company sold its operations in Turkey.
